What a Weekend!

what a weekend,

saturday morning david gave ana and me a lift and while we kept working on the pits ana worked on the fringe press release and ended up having an argument with graeme. i love arguments, they normally happen for a reason and as much as make people uncomfortable i always think that when explored in the right way, they help progress dramatically.

then we all left CW and i met danny, we bought some mineral wool and went back up there and started making our sound absorbers. funny enough, i saw dan (earthwise) at wickes and he suggested we should also reinforce insulation in our doors and that he'll help me. hopefully the new wall idea we had for the outside of the studio should also help.

in the meantime, antonio and cesar had gone to CW and went for a tasty B(acon)L(etuce)T(omato) with graeme and discussed some ideas for maggie's performance in which antonio will help graeme somehow (video). cesar worked on a piece for corepgrapher ji park that needed to be handed in today (sunday) and that we had started recording last week and when danny left CW i had a long conversation with graeme and then helped cesar with the very final touches of the mix. we went then to hove and had dinner at nigel's with ana, antonio and obviously nigel.

sunday, as our time convention was forced to move forward everything started late?. when cesar and me got to CW graeme had been cleaning the entrance to the shutter door, rescuing the trench and organising some of the ballast that was still there. warren had also been there and brought our new soundcard. graeme finished the sound absorbers (with staple gun and craft) while cesar and me tried the pva mix on the rough areas of the floor. it took quite a long time and i'm hoping that tomorrow will make more sense. it definitely looks smoother and more workable but i'm not sure if it'll last. anyway, ana came up to have an evening chat with graeme. meanwhile we listened to one of the songs from thursday's recording session and it sounds ridiculously good. i also missed a mixing session with danny today without even realising so hopefully by wednesday the latest i will have the acoustic treatment finished and will get back to all the work i'm behind with as the floor operation will be over and done with. i'm really looking forward to the skip so we clear the outside of the hermitage. also to try the dance floor out and see what new problems the whole thing brings and how to sort them out before marion arrives on wednesday expecting a performance space ready. we'll get there.
hope you all had a nice weekend.
