this morning i got a lift from ian from hove to CW. ana stayed home sending emails and getting all the info ready to send to nigel (he came last night and the 3 of us had a really nice dinner / conversation). it looks like he is getting seriously involved. very good news.
i was panicking a bit as the floor seemed to need another massive push, but ian did put some wise thoughts into play and we decided we were going to level out the discrepancies with self leveller compound. there was a note at the door from nice mandy saying that she was up for helping out so we rang her. we polished the areas needing more work with a range of tooks and lots of persistence and muscle action. it tool some time but it worked. we also cleared most of the performance space area (i had made a start on that yesterday) and cleaned it. alex1 was working at our studio and at some point graeme and maggie came back from belgium. it was nice to catch up and get some peace of mind talking through things with graeme. he also showed me how to post in this blog as you can all read.
it started to rain (first time since we took down the back room) so we also made sure that materials were as covered as possible. i also realised that there are quite a few really bad windows over the performance space that definitely need sorting... also alex1 found that one of the glasses that david put up is already broken. we don't know what it was (change of temperature ? stress from the forces being supported ?) hopefully it'll be easy and not very expensive to change.
then i had danny coming round to the studio (we are mixing and mastering lee westwood's new album together as it has been the case since lee started recording albums)
david will kindly give me a lift tomorrow morning, we'll be measuring the pit area (and any other areas to cover) and thinking about the materials needed and perhaps i'll order them so they arrive soon. between tomorrow and wednesday i'm hoping that the floor operation will be over and done with.
need some food now...
see you soon
