We've now got tons of books piled up by the entrance and at some point soon will be sorting them all out, building new shelves and making a lovely new bookcycle stall at Coachwerks. The general idea at the moment is to fill up any spare space we've got going with books and have a nice reading area.
Notes from the Bookcycle website
All life should be granted an equal opportunity for expression. Freedom; being our highest ideal is governed by the
parameters of the environment and the liberty of others. What does this mean in terms of Book-Cycle’s objectives and activities?
- The Advancement of Education - Individuals around the world should be afforded fairer access to information and literature. Book-Cycle is committed to providing books to people who have little access to literature, both in developing countries and back here in Britain.
- The Reforestation of Britain - The flora and fauna of Britain should be afforded a greater opportunity to coexist with the human population. Thus Book-Cycle is committed to the planting of trees, the creation of permaculture and the extension of mutually beneficial habitats.
- The Dissemination of Knowledge and Practices of Permaculture - People should be given greater access to the principles and practicalities of self-sustainability. Hence Book-Cycle will continue to promote a greener awareness and give free training in self–sustainability."
