Taking the architecture of a studio theatre and the conventions of a theatre show as its starting-point, One-Man Stage Piece invites both artist and audience to ask themselves a simple question: what am I doing here?
Delicately poised between humour and uneasiness through the vulnerability of a man alone on stage, One-Man Stage Piece attempts to bridge the gap established by the architecture and conventions of theatre.
One-Man Stage Piece is being developed through a series of showings around the UK. Following showings at the Bluecoat arts centre in Liverpool and Chisenhale Dance Space in London, Justin Allen will show One-Man Stage Piece as work-in-progress at Coachwerks on Monday 10th May at 7.30pm.
