08.03.10 - 09.03.10 Inconvenient Spoof Workshop

Devising from found elements through improvisation and ‘play’.

‘Inconvenient Spoof’ create lyrical, visual theatre with absurdist leaning infused with a playful joie de vivre. We tell stories constructed around found objects and told through puppetry, physical performance and video. We aim to create work that is entertaining, engaging, and provocative with a broad, inclusive appeal.

Over 2 sessions we will lead participants through a devising process involving improvisation with found elements and objects. We begin with warm-ups and games to relax the body and mind and create the conditions most conducive to ‘play’. Through a series of exercises we will then generate material to be gradually coaxed towards the creation of a performance piece. There will be lots of interaction and collaboration, and expect to sweat (loose clothing please).

Inconvenient Spoof is Silvia Mercuriali and Matt Rudkin.
